Old Shamokin

The Heritage Museum holds thousands of items including historic photographs, artifacts, memorabilia, and archival material covering 150 years of history in the Greater Shamokin Area. We invite visitors to experience old Shamokin in historic views and atlas maps, and explore the history of iconic local businesses and industries, including the Fuhrmann & Schmidt Brewing Company and the Eagle Silk Mill. The museum also features a scale model of the former Scott Colliery, one of the many collieries which operated in the region at the height of the anthracite coal era.
